Alaska Airline offers Wi-Fi service in-flight
Alaska Airline has become the latest airline company to offer in-flight wi-fi internet access to its customers.
They are currently offering this service on some of their Boeing 737-700 planes.
For now, the service is available for free on the flights between Seattle and San Jose.
The airline company said that after the trial run is complete, they would decide on how much to charge for it.
They are using Row 44’s satellite-to-plane Wi-Fi technology for this in-flight wireless internet service.
Customers would get access to a variety of online technologies including web browsing, online music, e-mail and instant messaging.
Of course VoIP calls are banned as per the ruling by the Federal Communications Commission.
