Tata Consultancy Services starts firing under-performing employees

India’s leading IT company TCS has announced that they are laying off under-performing employees.

The company said that less than a percent of its global workforce is being fired for failing to meet the performance standards.

Inside sources say that the company has already started firing people based on the performance factor.

A company source has been quoted as saying: “This is mostly employees who have been given a second chance to improve and haven’t. They will be sent over a period, in the next few months. This will constitute less than a percent of our global workforce. We had to let go of 500 people last year on performance issues.”

TCS has around 1.3 lakh employees.
