Seattle Post-Intelligencer goes web only
Hearst Corp. has announced the demise of the print edition of their newspaper Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
It would now become a web only service for the readers.
This makes it the latest victim of the cash crunch that has hurt the newspaper industry.
Lack of advertisements are forcing a lot of newspapers to discard their print editions and go web only.
Frank A. Bennack, Jr., vice chairman and chief executive officer of Hearst Corp. spoke about the newspaper: “Our goal now is to turn seattlepi.com into the leading news and information portal in the region.”
