Honda to get out of geared scooters segment in India
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced that they are soon going to exit from the geared scooters market to concentrate on the gearless segment.
The company offers Eterno scooter model which comes with manual gears.
Honda has also just launched the new edition of its gearless scooter Activa. This version is priced at Rs 39,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
A company representative said: “We will stop producing Eterno. We will not stay in this segment. Eterno will be phased out.”
Honda said that they were selling around 40,000 units of Eterno per annum which are just not good enough numbers.
