Volkswagen opens up their new manufacturing plant in India
Volkswagen has opened up their new manufacturing plant in India.
This this new development the company is now aiming to increase their market share in India to 10% in the coming years.
This new plant would manufacture the upcoming small car from Skoda.
It would also be used to manufacture the much awaited Volkswagen Polo.
VW board member Jochem Heizmann spoke about the importance of India for Volkswagen: “India’s automobile market will grow each year from the current 1.2 million vehicles to over 2 million vehicles by 2014. Thanks to the local production of Volkswagen and Skoda models in Pune, we will benefit even more from enormous growth on the Indian automobile market in future.”
