Rackable Systems to acquire Silicon Graphics
Rackable Systems has announced their decision to acquire Silicon Graphics.
The deal is worth around USD 25 million.
Rackable specializes in developing server and storage for medium to large data centers.
The announcement comes just as Silicon Graphics filed for federal bankruptcy protection in New York.
As part of the deal Rackable would gain rights to all of Silicon Graphics’ assets and assumes some liabilities related to the bankruptcy filing.
Rackable is hoping that the deal would help them boost their revenues.
