Mitsubishi raises prices of cars in India

Mitsubishi India has increased the prices of their cars on sale in the Indian market.

The prices are up by around 4-5%.

The company said that the prices were hiked as the imported kits for cars are becoming more expensive. Yen is becoming stronger and they can no longer bear the burden of high prices.

Most of the company models are not localized heavily so they rely a lot on imported components.

A Mitsubishi representative said: “In the last year and a half, the Yen has appreciated 40 per cent against the rupee. This, combined with the appreciation of the US dollar, has come as a double whammy for us”.

Mitsubishi sells a variety of models in India including Outlander, Pajero, Cedia, Lancer and Montero.
