Maruti Alto sells 23,569 units in March

Maruti continues to sell large number of Alto in the Indian market.

The month of March was a record breaking one for the company as they managed to sell 23,569 units of Alto during the month.

This is a jump of 21% compared to sales in the same period last year.

Maruti had sold 19,482 units in March, 2008.

Maruti spoke about this achievement: “So far only two cars in the history of Indian automobile industry have crossed the 20,000 units mark in single month- once by M800 and 11 times by Alto.”

Maruti Alto remains the bestselling car in the Indian market. It remains to be seen if it would be challenged by the Tata Nano in the coming years.
