Hyundai Santro: Now as a taxi in Mumbai
Hyundai Motor India has now provided a batch of their Santro model to the Mumbai Taxi Union.
Around 30 Santro cars are now going to be used as a taxi on the roads of Mumbai.
The company is hoping to sell more cars in this segment which has around 50,000 black and yellow taxis asking for replacements in the coming years.
With Tata Nano launching, they have little time to impress the taxi drivers of Mumbai.
D. C. Seol, Sr. GM, national sales, HMIL spoke about this initiative: “Santro is a low-maintenance vehicle with lots of interior space and we are happy that the Taxi and Autorickshaw Welfare Sangh has also chosen the Santro for its fleet of cars to be used as taxis. We want to make a breakthrough in the Mumbai taxi market and hope to start it with the Santro.”
They are offering Santro at a special discounted price to the Mumbai Taxi Union in their traditional black and yellow colors.
