American Airlines adding Boeing 737-800 to its fleet

American Airlines has now added some new updated Boeing 737-800 aircrafts to its fleet.

These would run from the company’s hub at O’Hare Airport.

They have already taken deliveries of two of these new planes.

AA is now planning to add 74 more over the next two years.

These new planes would replace the company’s MD-80 aircraft.

It is also one of the major fleet expansions for AA since 2001. AA CEO Gerald Arpey spoke about the new developments: “While it is a big decision to spend money on new airplanes, especially in tough times, not doing so could be more expensive in the long run.”
