eBay plans to retain significant stake in Skype after IPO

US based ecommerce giant eBay recently announced that they would launch an IPO of Skype sometime next year.

The company has now said that they aim to retain a significant stake in the VoIP Company after the IPO release.

eBay has also said that if they receive an unsolicited offer to buy Skype they would evaluate it before arriving on a decision.

The company acquired Skype for around USD 2.6 billion in 2005 hoping to integrate it with their web services. They have till now failed to do much with Skype in the recent years even though the service generate decent revenues for them.
