Amazon acquires developers of Stanza

US based online shopping giant Amazon has announced that they are acquiring the makers of Stanza which is the alternative to Kindle app on mobile platforms.

Developers Lexcycle spoke about this new development: “We are not planning any changes in the Stanza application or user experience as a result of the acquisition. Customers will still be able to browse, buy, and read eBooks from our many content partners. We look forward to offering future products and services that we hope will resonate with our passionate readers.”

Stanza enabled users of mobile devices like Apple iPhone to access free eBooks on their mobile devices.

Amazon has a presence in their market with their Kindle eBook reader.

Amazon also has an application available on the Apple App Store which enables the user to access their purchased eBooks.
