Fiat is interested in Opel
Fiat chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has confirmed that they are interested in the Opel brand.
He said that Opel could become an ideal partner for the company. He added that they now have an extraordinary opportunity to purchase this brand.
Incidentally, they are already in the process of acquiring Chrysler which has applied for Chapter 11 in USA.
Opel itself has said that they would require $4.3 billion to survive during this economic crisis which has resulted in most auto companies struggling to stay competitive.
Looks like Fiat could be the biggest gainer of the economic crisis as they are proceeding with deals to expand their presence around the world.
