Hyundai i20 Diesel coming to India later this year

Hyundai India has announced that they are going to launch a diesel edition of their Hyundai i20 premium hatch in the market later this year.

This would be an important launch for the company as they would take on the Maruti Suzuki Swift Diesel edition which has become a huge seller in the market.

The company said that this launch would be part of their goal to launch at least 2 new models every year in the Indian market.

Hyundai India said: “We currently have a 20.4 per cent market share. For the year ending 2009 we will look at growing our market share further by three per cent.”

India continues to remain an important market for the company as they compete with Maruti Suzuki.
