Tucson Citizen to close down print edition

Tucson Citizen is the Arizona’s oldest continuously published daily newspaper. The newspaper has now announced that they are ending their print edition.

They would continue to operate online though would lack news or sports coverage.

The web edition would just provide commentary and opinion.

The last edition would be printed today.

The operators of the newspaper spoke about this decision: “Dramatic changes in our industry combined with the difficult economy — particularly in this region — means it is no longer viable to produce two daily printed newspapers in Tucson”.
