Bombay Dost relaunched
Bombay Dost is considered to be the only Indian magazine aimed at the gay readers.
The magazine has been re-launched after a period of seven years.
Publication of this magazine was halted several years ago due to lack of revenues and advertising.
Things are changing in India despite all the negativity related to gay community.
The magazine’s publication is now supported by the UN Development Programme and other entities including a Bollywood star.
Magazine representative Nitin Karani spoke about the relaunch of the magazine: “The most important thing about the magazine was in the case of people like me. It made me realize I wasn’t the only ‘freak’ around and not isolated, that there are lots of other people like me, not just in India but abroad, and I could reach out to them and interact with them. It gave me a tremendous sense of validity.”
