Tech Mahindra: Satyam has excess staff
Tech Mahindra has admitted that Satyam in its current form is overstaffed by around 10,000 workers.
The company is the new parent of the fraud hit Satyam Compute Services.
Mahindra said that they would definitely need to lower the headcount in the company to make it profitable again.
Vineet Nayyar CEO of Tech Mahindra said: “It’s more than 10,000 people are excess. Ultimately if the company fails, you have 40,000 people out of the job. Nobody wants that.”
He added: “I think the future is great but there will have to be a few sacrifices in terms of compensation, in terms of a large number of things… Some form of least painful way of reduction in staff is an option which will have to be looked at.”

sir,
If satyam has exceeded its employees then why the management trainees-marketing who were hired for Tech-mahindra should suffer ??giving termination will no doubt help the cost cutting of tech mahindra but in long run dont you think Commitment is a big word !!why should management trainees in marketing suffer who overall bring business to company and not an internal cost to company. Its my request to keep in mind the students who were hired by tech mahindra at time of recession and being fired in bulk when recession is at its peak…then there was no point of acquiring satyam .
