Maruti Suzuki to reinvent Alto to take on Tata Nano?
Tata Nano has been the talk of the town. Tata created history by launching their Nano small car which is now the cheapest car on sale in the Indian market.
The launch of Nano is a big threat to Maruti which has been dominating the Indian market with their range of cheap compact cars.
However, the company has now plans to update their entire line-up of older models to make them more competitive in the market.
Maruti 800 and Omni are likely to get engine upgrades so that they are compliant with the new fuel emission standard.
Maruti is also said to be planning a cheaper variant of Alto that can be positioned as a better value for money product compared to the Tata Nano.
WagonR and Versa would also get new updates to make them relevant to current market scenarios.
Maruti is also planning to upgrade Swift with new design and petrol engines.
The company has already launched a couple of brand new exciting models. So it’s time for them to concentrate on refreshing their earlier models to stay ahead of rivals in the Indian market.
