Now Time Warner against free content online!

We already know that News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch does not like the idea of free news content online.

Now, Time Warner has joined the group.

Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes said during an investor conference that he does not like the concept where publishers provide their content for free supported by online advertising.

This has become a reality today when the advertising market is down and web publishers are struggling to generate enough revenues through their freely available content.

Bewkes did not however say that they are planning to charge for access to their online media portals.

The company operates Time, People and Sports Illustrated magazines.

It is about time publishers came to their senses. I agree that publishers should charge for content. No one should work for free including journalists.

The sooner publishers charge for content the better, newspapers must survive!
Besides, who ever said content has to be free?
