General Motors aiming at Rs. 2 lakh car for India
Tata Motors has already launched their Nano small car. The car was aimed to be priced at Rs. 1 lakh for the basic model and the company managed that target for the initial batch.
Now, GM is planning to build a small car for the Indian market. They are targeting a price tag of under Rs. 2 lakh.
The parent company of GM India has just filed for bankruptcy but that has not stopped GM India from following their plans.
GM India said that the new model would be positioned below their Spark hatchback which is their cheapest offering in India currently.
The company warned that they are not taking on Tata Nano with this model.
Chevrolet Spark is currently the cheapest car from GM in the world. This new car would give them more options for their markets around the world.
