Chase Carey leaving DirecTV for News Corporation
News Corp. has announced that they are hiring Chase Carey as their new deputy chairman, president and chief operating officer.
He would replace Peter Chernin. His appointment would be applicable from next month.
Carey is currently the CEO of DirecTV.
At News Corp, he would practically be the second most powerful man after Rupert Murdoch.
He would be based in New York and would look after the company’s global operations.
He had worked at News Corp for around 15 years before joining DirecTV.
