Maruti Suzuki to launch CNG powered models
Maruti Suzuki has said that they are going to offer more of their models with the CNG option.
CNG has become a popular alternative fuel to run cars as it turns out to be very cheap compared to petrol.
CNG powered cars are also less polluting compared to the regular versions.
Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been quoted as saying: “In terms of future technology that is still to come to India, newly launched Maruti Suzuki models like A-star and Ritz meet the End of Life’ norms that are yet to be adopted in India. Progressively, we will make all Maruti Suzuki models ELV compliant by 2010.”
He added: “Our initiatives for non-conventional clean fuel will take a step further in the coming times with factory fitted CNG options on several models.”
Hyundai is one company that is benefiting a lot by offering CNG editions of their cars in the Indian market.
Maruti currently is offering Maruti 800, Omni and WagonR with LPG options.
