Hyundai India planning to setup a diesel engine plant in India
Hyundai Motor India has revealed that they are considering establishing a diesel engine unit near their existing car manufacturing plant near Chennai.
The South Korean automaker added that the government would have to avoid raising excise duty if they want the market to recover.
Hyundai said that the market has already started showing some improvements and government should help it make a steady recovery.
Hyundai Motor India Managing Director, H.S. Lheem was quoted as saying: “We have initiated a feasibility study for setting up a diesel engine plant.”
They already have a petrol engine manufacturing unit near their car plant.
