Dell could acquire Palm if rumours are to be believed

Wall Street Journal has reported that US based PC manufacturer Dell could soon announce a major acquisition deal.

And if we are to believe the market reports, Dell could be pursuing none other than Palm for a possible deal.

Palm has just made a comeback in the smartphone market with the launch of the Pre smartphone which looks like a serious challenger to Apple iPhone.

However, the launch of Pre is not going to fix all the problems at Palm which continues to struggle in the smartphone market.

Dell has been looking into the smartphone market. We have already heard the rumours that they designed a couple of smartphone models which were rejected by mobile service providers in the US market.

If Dell can and does manage to acquire Palm, they would have in their control one of the most exciting mobile platforms of this generation.

The question now is… Is Palm prepared to sell itself considering they are in a much better position now!
