Opel might offer huge discounts to boost sales

Market analysts believe that German automaker Opel would have to offer heavy discounts on their cars if they want to boost sales.

Opel was saved by the German government which provided it with state aid last month.

The company is still struggling to save jobs and survive in the tough global economy.

Parent company GM has already filed for bankruptcy in USA.

Simon Empson, managing director of Broadspeed.com said in a statement that the company would have to sell their cars for massive discounts to boost sales in order to meet their sales target.

Another market analyst said that the company’s new parent company is also likely to focus on improving sales rather than generate profits in the near future.
