Volkswagen considering investing in Suzuki
Volkswagen is the largest automobile maker in the European market.
However, they are somewhat struggling to compete against their rivals in the Asian markets like India.
Market sources say that VW is considering investing in Japanese automaker Suzuki which dominates the small car market in India through their subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India.
VW is said to be considering acquiring a 10% stake in Suzuki.
There are no signs of any talks happening yet as they are still working out the possibilities.
VW only has premium cars on sale in the Indian market where cheap compact cars are the dominating segment.
VW has plans to launch competitively priced hatchbacks in the coming years. But if they can collaborate with Suzuki, those plans would get a major boost.
