Tata Nano going to Nigeria next year!
Tata Motors has announced that they are working on plans to launch their Nano small car model in the Nigerian market next year.
A company representative said: “Tata Motors will make the Nano available in Nigeria in the next one year to one and a half years. The launching of the Nano was branded everyman behind the wheel and will benefit Nigerians much as public transport systems like metro are not available here.”
They are aiming to price the base model of the Nano at around Rs. 1.16 lakhs in that market which would make it a compelling purchase compared to rival products and even second hand models.
The company has however not revealed on whether the car would be manufactured in Nigeria or they would export it from India.
Tata also has plans to launch the Nano car in the European markets by 2011. The car has been launched in India and deliveries are expected to begin sometime later this month.
