Volkswagen Up! could be manufactured in India

Volkswagen surprised the market experts when they announced their Up! low cost car model.

This model could be manufactured by the company at their Indian plants to benefit from the low cost manufacturing for sale in the international market.

Market sources say that this model could be manufactured in India at a cost of just around €900.

Of course, the selling price in the international markets would be much more.

VW is also expected to launch this model in the Indian market to compete in the low cost car segment which is currently dominated by Maruti Suzuki. Tata is going to become a major player in this segment of the market with their Nano car that was launched earlier this year.
