E Sreedharan resigns over broken Metro Bridge
Delhi Metro has been a great example of engineering in India.
However, a mishap at one of the construction site which killed 5 people has caused much damage to its reputation.
The incident has been so bad that E Sreedharan has announced his resignation over the incident.
He said: “As the head of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, I take moral responsibility for the incident…So I have decided to resign and I have put in papers and I have sent it to Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.”
Delhi government has not yet accepted his resignation. It would be a major setback to the project if he moves out of it.
