Air Deccan aims to break even by 2008

Deccan Aviation, the operators of the low cost airline company Air Deccan have said that they are aiming at breaking even in the next two years.

The company is coming out with their IPO later this week and are one of the most widely spread airline operator in the Indian market.

A company executive said in a statement: “The airline will become profitable with in 18 to 24 months with the help of better yield management.”

He added that the company’s expenses are 50 per cent lower in terms of cost compared to full service airlines and this gives them an added advantage at taking on the bigger players in the market.

He further said: “Air Deccan has better aircraft utilization and is offering more seats. As of March 31, the airline has orders in place for future delivery of 96 aircraft which are scheduled to be delivered up to December 2012.”
