Honda CR-Z hybrid coming in February next year
Honda Motor has announced that they are now aiming to launch their CR-Z hybrid sports car next February.
In addition the company is also aiming to launch a gasoline-electric Fit subcompact by the end of 2010.
The company has decided to speed up these two launches to benefit from the increasing demand for fuel efficient vehicles.
Honda Motor Co’s new chief executive Takanobu Ito said in a statement: “I think everyone is going to go the way of hybrids. Bringing hybrids quickly to customers will be a major focus of our activities. I want Honda to be a speedy company.”
The company left the Formula-1 scene earlier this year to focus on their automotive business.
Honda said that all the engineers from the F1 team are now working on hybrid development for the company’s upcoming models.
