Nikkei: Sony to invest massively in Sharp LCD Unit
Japanese business daily Nikkei has reported that consumer electronics giant Sony is planning to invest around a billion dollars in the LCD unit of Sharp.
Sony had announced last year that they were planning to acquire a 34 percent stake in the joint venture with Sharp.
The report said that an official announcement can be made by the end of the current month.
Sony has declined to confirm the news at the moment.
The two companies are collaborating together on the project to stay ahead of the competition.
