IBM acquiring SPSS for USD 1.2 billion
US based tech giant IBM has announced that they are acquiring SPSS through a deal worth around USD 1.2 billion.
The price tag of the deal puts the value of SPSS at a premium of around 42% at their current share prices.
Market analysts believe that this is an excellent purchase for IBM at a time when global economy is facing tough times.
IBM spoke about this acquisition deal: “With this acquisition, we are extending our capabilities around a new level of analytics that not only provides clients with greater insight — but true foresight.”
The deal would require approval from the shareholders of the company and the regulatory bodies.
