Motorola bets big on Google Android phones

Motorola has been keeping a low profile in the mobile phone market. they are working on a series of new products which would be powered by the Google Android mobile platform.

The company is expected to launch at least two Android smartphones this year.

Motorola said that they are aiming to bring to the market affordable Android powered mobile devices.

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha even admitted: “The majority of our new devices will be smartphones, as we expand Android across a broader set of price points.”

He however added that Windows Mobile is still very important for their enterprise mobility business.

Android would be targeted at the consumer segment of the global market.
