Time Warner to acquire Liberty stake in Court TV
Media group Time Warner has said in a statement that they are acquiring Liberty Media’s 50 percent stake in their Court TV joint venture.
This deal would cost the company $735 million. The two parties are also currently talking over Liberty’s 4 percent stake in Time Warner.
This deal would now see Court TV operating as part of the Turner Broadcasting, which already has popular channels like CNN, TBS and the Cartoon Network.
Turner has now plans to develop this brand even further as it comes under their total control giving them more flexibility to enhance its presentation.
Court TV Chief Executive Henry Schleiff would now become the group’s non-executive chairperson for the next six months.
