Maruti has now manufactured 80 lakh cars!
Maruti Suzuki India has announced that they have crossed the milestone of manufacturing 80 lakh cars.
The company was established around 25 years ago with the aim of bringing affordable cars to Indian consumer.
It is the leading automaker in the Indian market dominating the small car segment.
Maruti 800 was the first model that was launched way back on December 14, 1983. This model is incidentally still on sale.
The company said that they had manufactured around 81,05,228 cars by July 31 this year. Maruti has offered around 14 models in the Indian market till now.
Incidentally, Maruti 800 model alone accounts for around 27 lakh units. This model is no longer the dominating product in the company’s portfolio as Maruti Alto has become the leading product for them.
