Toyota could bring to India a diesel engine powered small car!
Japanese automaker Toyota has hinted that they are considering launching the diesel version of their upcoming small car in the Indian market.
Diesel cars are becoming very popular in India despite the higher price tag especially because this fuel is much cheaper than Petrol.
Diesel engines are also more fuel efficient so they are popular with people who have to drive a lot.
Toyota aims to target this segment of the market with this new small car.
The company said: “We are keenly studying the diesel option for the small car to be launched by 2011. It will depend on the market and the government regulations regarding diesel engines.”
Toyota further said that they are also considering launching a diesel version of their Corolla Altis sedan in India.
We can only say that they should not waste any more time to bring their diesel engines to India.
