Redbox files a lawsuit against 20th Century Fox
Redbox is a DVD rental company which is becoming very popular in the US market.
The company has now filed a lawsuit against the movie studio 20th Century Fox.
20th Century Fox has been trying to prevent Redbox from getting access to their new DVD releases so that they cannot be rented out at low prices just after launch.
Redbox incidentally charges just USD 1 per night for the DVD rentals which means you can get access to any new movie release on DVD for that low price.
Movie studios in USA have been trying to prevent this from happening demanding Redbox to wait for a while before making new releases available on their rental services.
Fox incidentally has already asked their distributors to not sell their new DVD releases to Redbox for a period of 30 days when the sales of these discs are maximum.
Lions Gate Entertainment is one studio which has already given up and is now working with Redbox.
