Hyundai Equus coming to US market next year
South Korean automaker Hyundai has announced that they would launch their premium segment sedan Equus in the US market next year.
This model is already on sale in the company’s home market.
Hyundai is currently offering their Azera and Genesis sedans in this segment of the market in USA.
With Equus, they would finally challenge the higher end of the market.
John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America spoke about their plans for the US market: “We showed the car at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, and the response was fantastic. Since then, we’ve had a fleet traveling around the country, capturing input from our dealers and consumers. Here, too, the response was extraordinarily positive and similar to the market reaction to the award-winning Genesis, so we’ve decided to bring it to the U.S.”
Hyundai Equus when launched in the US would compete with the luxury cars from rival companies like Mercedes, BMW and Lexus.
