Daihatsu might come to India
Japanese automaker Toyota has hinted that they might bring the Daihatsu branded cars to the Indian market.
Toyota said in a statement: “We are internally talking to bring Daihatsu in India. A lot would depend on our performance here.”
Daihatsu is one of the leading compact car makers in the Japanese market. The company already sells their cars in around 100 countries around the world.
Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world but they are a relatively smaller player in the Indian market.
India is dominated by small cars and Toyota currently has no small car model on sale in this market.
The company is said to be working on a small car model that could be launched here in the coming years.
But to have a wide variety of small affordable cars from the Daihatsu brand would do wonders for Toyota.
