Toyota gained most from the US Cash-for-Clunkers program
The Cash-for-Clunkers ended earlier this week in the US market and we now have some details.
Japanese automaker Toyota was the prime gainer from this program.
The company accounted for 19% of all sales during the period and had two of the top three selling models.
US government sources said that the program saw sale of around 690,000 new vehicles.
General Motors, Ford and Chrysler together accounted for around 38.6 percent of the vehicles sold.
Japanese automakers Toyota, Honda and Nissan together sold 41% of the vehicles during the period.
Toyota Corolla was the most popular vehicle during the period followed by Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, Ford Focus and Hyundai Elantra.
