Electric Chevrolet Spark for India?
Industry sources claim that GM India is in talks with Bangalore based Electric car maker Reva Electric Car Company.
The company wants to use their technology to develop an electric version of their own small car Chevrolet Spark.
GM India spoke about the reports: “We have been pursuing opportunities for commercial application of alternative fuel options, including bio-diesel, jatropha arrangement with CSMCRI (Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute), electric, fuel cell, hydrogen etc, with many parties for quite some time. Our efforts are ongoing and we have nothing to announce as of now. As soon as we finalize our plans for introduction of any alternative fuel solutions, we will announce the same.”
GM considers India to be an important market and they have been pretty actively introducing new and updated models for sale here.
