Paul Otellini expecting PC sales to rise this year
Intel CEO Paul Otellini has said that they believe PC sales could rise this year and beat the market expectations.
Intel said that the PC market is recovering very fast and it could soon get out of the slump.
IDC and Gartner are however not that optimistic. Both the research firms have said that the sales of PCs this year would be less than the sales last year.
Netbooks is one segment of the market which continues to grow at a rapid pace. But this is not helping the PC manufacturers as the profit margins on these machines are very low.
The company showcased their 22-nanometer technology powered chips at the Intel Developers’ Forum. These processors are not likely to arrive in the retail market for a couple of years.
