Donald Fisher, Founder of GAP dies
The founder of the apparel industry giant GAP, Donald Fisher has died. He was 81.

Fisher has been fighting a losing battle with cancer since a long time.
He opened the first GAP showroom along with his wife Doris in 1969 in San Francisco.
It is now one of the largest largest specialty retailers in the world with more than 3000 stores around the world.
The company now owns some other brands including Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta.
Glenn Murphy, CEO and chairman of Gap spoke about Fisher: “Today we lost a friend, a mentor and a great visionary. Don and Doris took a simple idea and turned it into a brand recognized as a cultural icon throughout the world and changed the face of retail forever.”
