AOL could be worth just around USD 4.2 billion

When Google acquired a stake in AOL a few years ago, the valuation was set at around USD 20 Billion.

Times have changed. Google has moved on. And Time Warner is planning to get rid of AOL by making it an independent entity.

Market analysts have claimed that the current net worth of the entire AOL network is just around USD 4 billion.

Incidentally, Google had sold its stake in AOL earlier this year at a valuation of USD 5.5 billion. So, looks like AOL is getting cheaper by the day!

It remains to be seen what AOL management has planned for this fading giant.
