Hulu could go paid sometime next year

News Corporation has already hinted that they are planning a subscription based model for the Hulu service in which they are partnering with other media giants ABC and NBC.

The company has now hinted that the new model could be launched as early as next year as they aim to generate more revenues from their web services.

News Corp. Deputy Chairman Chase Carey had this to say on their plans: “it’s time to start getting paid for broadcast content online.”

Hulu has not clarified whether any form of access to the service would require a subscription or they would continue to offer the free model with ads.
