Carl Icahn resigns from Yahoo board

Carl Icahn has announced that he is resigning from the board of Yahoo.

He had joined the company board last year with the aim of forcing the company to sign a deal with Microsoft.

Icahn said that Yahoo does not need an activist investor as a director at this time.

He seems to be happy with the deal Yahoo signed with Microsoft though it is much worse than the original offer from the US based software giant.

Icahn said that the partnership with Microsoft would benefit Yahoo in the long run.
