Newsday to charge USD 5 per week for online access
Newsday has announced that they would charge USD 5 per week for access to their website.
This would be applicable from next week.
Access to the service would be free for the customers of Cablevision Systems internet customers and people who subscribe to the newspaper.
Cablevision spoke about this new development: “We recognize that our overall (Web) traffic is going to decline. But we’re really focused on our Long Island audience.”
They would however provide access to some sections on the website for free. Cablevision had acquired Newsday last year from Tribune.
