Global lifestyle brand Nautica enters India
Global lifestyle brand Nautica has announced their entry into the growing Indian retail market. The company has announced its foray into the Indian market, with plans to open 12 stores in India by 2009.
They have a long-term goal of capturing 10 per cent share of the Rs 300 crore premium apparel segment.
Darshan Mehta, President, Arvind Brands Ltd said in a statement on this development: “The Rs 500 crore premium grooming segment is growing at 45-50 per cent annually and in the next three years, share of the apparel segment would grow to about Rs 300 crore, of which we are eyeing a market share of Rs 30 crore.”
Nautica would be selling their exclusive range of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories in India through stores in Delhi and Bangalore.
They have plans to setup outlets in Chennai and Mumbai by year-end. Mehta added: “Of the 12 Nautica stores that would come up by 2009, three would be company owned and the rest, like the ones in Delhi and Bangalore, would be run by franchisees.”
