Panasonic launches bid to acquire Sanyo
Japanese consumer electronics giant Panasonic has finally launched their bid to acquire a majority stake in rival company Sanyo.
The company is offering £2.7 billion for this stake.
Panasonic is said to be primarily interested in the Sanyo’s green business related to solar panels and rechargeable batteries.
Sanyo has clients like Honda, Ford and Peugeot Citroen.
Panasonic is itself developing similar solutions in partnership with Toyota. This deal would boost their offerings in this segment.
